Kwik Fit Employee of the Year Awards

Last saturday evening I was at the Prestonfield Hotel in Edinburgh to photograph the Kwik Fit, Employee of the Year Awards. The event is organised by the fantastic folk at Maximillion Events which this year had a circus theme for the evening.
The comedian Craig Hill was MC for the night, we had clowns, fire eaters, gymnasts, magicians and live music to entertain all of Kwik Fit's employees and guests for the evening.

Its Not Just Weddings I Photograph...

This may come as a surprise to a few folk but it's not just weddings I photograph, I also capture family portraits and lifestyle photography. The pictures below are from a shoot I did on Saturday of Charlotte with her young brother Samuel. I went along to their parents house where I quickly set up a portable light and simply used a white sheet as a background, this doesn't take up much room and can be set up anywhere. This means you can have a photo shoot in the comfort of your own home and the kids don't get stressed out by an intimidating studio layout.

If you would like to know a little more about my portrait photography, please visit my Lifestyle Photography Website, or give me a call for a chat.

Wedding Photojournalist Association Q4 Competition Entries

It's competition time again. The Q4 contest at the WPJA are calling for entries and these are the images I have entered. You are allowed a maximum of 60 entries over the year covering all four quarterly contests, with categories set by the WPJA. As I have not entered too many images over the last 3 competitions, I have filled my boots with the 26 credits I had left for the Q4 competition. Entries close at the end of this month with the results being announced around March time.
If you are frequent visitor to my blog you may recognise some of the images from recent posts including a few taken from Linsey & Iain's wedding at the Marine Hotel North Berwick and Lisa & Dalv's wedding at Achnagairn House.

A little about the WPJA.

The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. What sets our members apart in the industry is their candid, documentary approach – a distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography.
The Wedding Photojournalist Association puts the world’s best wedding photography at your fingertips. We offer a new perspective on wedding photography - quietly capturing the real moments as they happen for the bride and groom. It is our goal to use photography to tell the story of your wedding day, not dictate it for you.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the pictures so please leave a comment below.

A Few Favourite Photographs From 2010

I thought it would be easy to put together a selection of around 20 images taken during 2010 but I found impossible to narrow it down to such a small number, so I have ended up with 50 which was still tough going! These are a few of my favourite images that I captured last year at some of the fantastic weddings I was fortunate enough to photograph. They capture the documentary style of my work that tell the story of the bride and grooms wedding day that I hope will bring many happy memories for years to come.
I would love to hear your thoughts on which photos you like, so please leave a comment at the bottom of the page.
